State Heat Pump Credit
Colorado offers state tax credits to qualified contractors for installing energy-efficient heat pumps and water heaters—savings that are passed directly on to you as a discount.
Here’s how it works: you choose a registered contractor to complete the installation and agree to file for the applicable tax credit. Contractors are required to pass along 33.33% of the credit to the homeowner as an instant discount.

Air-sourceheat pump: Contractors receive a $1,000 tax credit, passing $333 in savings to you.

Eligible water heater: Contractors receive a $750 tax credit, passing $250 in savings directly to you.

Xcel Energy Rebates
XcelEnergy offers substantial rebates to Colorado customers who install energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, such as heat pumps.
XcelEnergy offers up to $2,250 per ton for qualifying air-source heat pumps, with a maximum rebate of $11,250. This is an excellent opportunity to reduce heating and cooling costs and make your home more energy efficient.
